Direct Dial in PBXAdmin

Set up and manage Direct Dial in PBXAdmin.

Direct dialing is used to get a direct call into the PBX. For instance, to log external numbers in the queue without having to log into the PBX. It can also be used to record announcements when there's a need to record from a phone number not in the PBX. See examples below for its application.

  1. Under Direkte indkald (Direct Dial), you can see all the direct dials that have been set up.

Function  Description
1. Lokalnummer (Local number) Here you can see the local number of the direct dial.
2. Navn (Name) Here you can see the name of the direct dial.
3. Beskrivelse (Description) Here you can view the description of the direct dial, which might describe its function, for example.
4. PIN-kode (PIN code) Here you can enter the PIN that needs to be dialed when calling into the solution.
5. Forvalg (Prefix) If you enter something in this field, and the code is entered correctly, you will be immediately forwarded to the local number you specify here. This could be, for instance, an external number.
6. Speak ved forkert PIN-kode
(Announcement for incorrect PIN)
Here, you have the option to link to an announcement that will play if the PIN is entered incorrectly.

Example

69142229 forwards to local number 7600 (Direct Dial), which has the PIN code 121212.

When you call 69142229, you enter the PIN code. Afterward, you'll get a dial tone and can, for example, record an announcement by dialing 9* followed by the local number of the announcement.

In this manner, you can record announcements from phone numbers not on the PBX system. This can be useful, for instance, if your internet goes down, and your desk phones can't be used to leave an announcement about technical issues.
