If you want to use the TEL protocol for your Myfone client, you need to enable it through Default apps in Windows.
What is the TEL protocol?
The TEL protocol is a protocol that allows you to set the Myfone client as the default device for call handling when making outbound calls by clicking on a hyperlink to phone numbers.
Example: If you search for Flexfone via Google and click on the phone number, with the TEL protocol installed for Myfone, the outgoing call will always be made through the Myfone client.
How do I enable the TEL protocol for the Myfone client?
To enable the TEL protocol for the Myfone client, follow these steps:
1. Open Default apps in Windows, search for TEL, and click on Choose a default app.
2. Click on Myfone and then click the Set default button.
3. The TEL protocol is now set to use the Myfone client as the default device for handling outbound calls when clicking on a hyperlink to phone numbers.
When you click on a hyperlink to a phone number, you will see the following prompt the first time using a hyperlink to a phone number on a website:
Check the permission box and click the Open button.
Tip: In order to use TEL-protocol with the Myfone client, an upgrade to version 1.3.5 or higher of the Myfone client is required. To see how to upgrade the Myfone client version, click here.
Note: The TEL protocol only works for the Myfone client and not for Myfone.dk or the Myfone mobile app.
